How to Order

Adding Products to Shopping Cart

From the main page select Buy Protection Plan. Enter a quantity next to the items you wish to purchase, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Add to Cart”. Select Continue Shopping to add more items to the cart or select Go to Shopping Cart. At the shopping cart page, the items and quantities you have chosen, their purchase price and the total dollar amount of all items for purchase will be listed. You can return to the shopping cart at any time by selecting the cart icon in the upper right of the website. 

Continue to Checkout

After you've reviewed the items in the Shopping Cart, click Check Out. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to login. Creating an account is required for purchase. If you are an Intel Technology Provider member, you can login with your ITP account. If you are an end customer, you can login to an existing account or create a new one. After logging in, you will be prompted to confirm the billing address to be used for purchase. 


After confirming your billing address, you will be taken to the payment screen. You can then login with your PayPal account, or check out as a guest and enter credit card information without logging into PayPal. After completing the payment, you will be taken to a confirmation page. At this point the order is completed. 

Confirmation and Order Receipt

After completing the purchase, you will see an order confirmation page with your order number. This information is also emailed to the email address on your account. You can also view your order history at any time by logging into the website and selecting My Account.

Ordering Issues

If you encounter problems with the ordering process, contact PTPP Support with Performance Tuning Protection Plan in the subject. 

Replacing a Processor

Your Performance Tuning Protection Plan is effective immediately. The Plan will cover the processor running out of specifications for the remainder of the standard warranty. 

If you need to submit a claim for processor replacement under the Plan, contact Intel Customer Support. 

When you contact Intel, be prepared to provide the Plan Activation Code that was sent with your order confirmation. Intel Customer Support will give you a return material authorization (RMA) number and instructions. 

Refund Policy

Refunds can be given up to 45 days from the date of purchase, provided the activation code has not been used. To request a refund, send the following information to  PTPP Support: 

Subject:Intel® PTPP Refund

  • Order Number
  • Activation Code(s) 
  • Account Email Address used in the purchase. 

Support will email you back with an acknowledgement email. Refunds take up to 6 weeks to process. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is processed. The refund will be processed back to the account used for the purchase.
